Nigerian record producer Michael Collins Ajereh (aka Don Jazzy) is an audio engineer, songwriter, record executive, singer and businessman who gives back to the community. His company, Mavin Records, was founded by him, and he serves as its president and CEO. Don Jazzy and Dbanj were co-owners of the defunct record label Mo’ Hits Records.

Don Jazzy was born Michael Collins Ajereh on November 26, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia State, to Collins Enebeli Ajereh and Mrs. Ajereh. He is the son of Collins and Mrs. His father hails from Isoko, a small town in Delta State, where he was born.In Abia state, his mother is an Igbo princess; in Isoko country, his father is a member. D’prince (Charles Enebeli) is Don Jazzy’s younger brother.

When Jay-Z and Kanye West produced Lift Off, featuring Beyoncé on Watch The Throne, Don Jazzy worked with them.Earlier this month, Don Jazzy announced the launch of Mavin Records, his new record label.
“I see Mavin Records becoming the music powerhouse in Africa in the shortest amount of time,” he said. A collection of his label’s artists was released on 8 May 2012. Amarachi, Forever, Oma Ga, Take Banana and Chocolate, YOLO, and the anthem I’m an MAVIN were among the songs on the album. A deal with Mavin Records brought Tiwa Savage on board as a vocalist. The “Marvin League” is a social network platform that Don Jazzy created to help market his record label.In September 2014, Ajereh collaborated with Reekado Banks and Di’Ja on the song Arise, a social activist song from Nigeria.
During the 2015 Headies Awards, Ajereh and Olamide had a heated argument. It was a contentious debate over who should have won the “Next Rated” prize. Reekado Banks, Ajereh’s artist, beat Lil Kesh of YBNL records. It was announced that the winner of the award would receive a new car. After the incident, both parties posted their apologies on their respective websites. He thanked him for his time at Mavin Records and told him he was still a part of the family after Reekado Banks left the label. He signed Rema in 2019 and Ayra Starr in 2020 to Mavins Record Label.
