Helbig published the last episode of her DailyGrace web series on the DailyGrace YouTube channel on December 27, 2013. After those four days, My Damn Channel issued a statement in which they revealed that Grace Helbig had decided not to renew her multi-year contract with the network and that, going forward, Helbig would not be producing any new content for the DailyGrace YouTube channel. The statement also stated that this decision would take effect immediately.
According to My Damn Channel, the DailyGrace YouTube channel will continue to exist but only as an archive. The network intends to release the early episodes of DailyGrace as well as other Helbig material that was previously only available on My Damn Channel. On January 6, 2014, Grace Helbig relaunched her individually owned, previously secondary channel on YouTube known as it’s Grace (which was earlier known as GracieHinABox).
The dramatic increase in subscribers to Grace that was caused by the news of Helbing’s departure from My Damn Channel and the subsequent move back to her own independent channel can be attributed to the news. The number of subscribers to Grace rose from just under 87,000 in the final week of 2013 to over half a million by the first week of 2014. It’s Grace reached 1 million subscribers on January 22, 2014, less than two and a half weeks after the channel’s premiere.
