Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, 1989), better known by his stage name Prince Royce, is a Dominican singer and songwriter who was born in the United States. Royce developed an interest in music from a young age, and during his adolescent years, he began experimenting with music and composing poetry. Royce met Andrés Hidalgo, who would later become his manager, when he was nineteen years old. Hidalgo later introduced Royce to record producer Sergio George, who immediately took Royce under his wing.

Geoffrey Royce Rojas grew up in The Bronx, a borough of New York City, New York, where he was born on May 11, 1989. Born to Dominican parents, he is the second oldest of four children. Ramón Rojas, his father, was a taxi driver, and ngela de León, his mother, worked at a beauty shop.
