Sean Paul Ryan is a character in the film Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques OD, Francis Henriques OD, Francis Henriques OD, Francis Hen (born 9 January 1973)  is a music artist and producer from Jamaica who is widely recognised as one of the genre’s most prolific artists.  [4]  Paul’s hits “Get Busy” and “Temperature” topped the charts in the United States, and most of his albums have been nominated for Grammys, with Dutty Rock winning the award for Best Reggae Album.

Sean Paul Ryan is a character in the film Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques was born on January 9, 1973, in Kingston, Jamaica. Frances, his mother, is a painter. His paternal grandfather was of Portuguese Jewish ancestry (his family emigrated to Jamaica from Portugal in the 17th century); his father, Garth, is of Portuguese Indo-Jamaican ancestry; and his paternal grandmother was Afro-Jamaican.  His mother is English, and he grew up in England.

Jeremy Harding’s brother informed him about a vocalist who sounded a lot like Super Cat, the dancehall DJ and toaster, who was performing at a small open mic event in Kingston.  When Paul visited to Harding’s studio for advise, he eventually met the singer. Paul recorded a vocal over Harding’s rhythm recording during the meeting, and the song “Baby Girl” was born.


Paul continued to work with manager/producer Jeremy Harding in 2002, and announced the release of his second album, Dutty Rock, following a joint venture contract with his label, VP Records, and Atlantic Records. The album was a worldwide hit, selling over six million copies, thanks to the popularity of the singles “Gimme the Light” and the Billboard Hot 100 #1 “Get Busy.” Dutty is the title of the album.

The Trinity, Paul’s third album, was released on September 27, 2005. “We Be Burnin’,” “Ever Blazin’,” “Give It Up to Me,” “Never Gonna Be the Same,” and the chart-topping mega song “Temperature” were among the album’s five great hits. In 2006, the film Step Up featured the video for “Give It Up to Me,” which featured Keyshia Cole. At the 2006 Billboard Music Trophies, he was nominated for four awards.

On August 18, 2009, Imperial Blaze was released. The lead song, “So Fine,” was released on Paul’s website on April 26, 2009, and was produced by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor.  The album has 20 songs, including party songs like “So Fine,” “Press it Up,” “She Want Me,” and “Private Party,” as well as love ballads like “Hold My Hand” (feat. Keri Hilson), “Lately,” and “Now That I’ve Got Your Heart.”


Paul worked on his sixth studio album, Full Frequency, in 2013, and it was released on February 18, 2014.  The album’s first single, “Other Side of Love,” was published on iTunes on June 10, 2013. The second song, “Entertainment,” was released on June 25, 2013, and includes 2 Chainz and Juicy J.  On September 3, 2013, Paul released the official remix of “Entertainment,” along with an ad.

Paul was the featured international musician at Fiestas Palmares 2014  in Costa Rica in January 2014. Paul was also included on the official English-language version of Enrique Iglesias’ long-running Latin American chart song “Bailando,” which featured Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno. The video for the English version was shot in Santo Domingo at the same time as the video for the Spanish version.

Paul had a commercial rebirth in 2016 under the new management of Dougall Duo’s Jules Dougall and Steve “Urchin,” after being featured on three mainly successful smash singles by Australian vocalist Sia, girl band Little Mix, and classical crossover group Clean Bandit. Paul performed at the Pakistan Super League’s opening ceremony on February 6, 2016.

On October 21, 2019, the Jamaican government announced that he would be awarded the Order of Distinction, Commander class (CD) “for contribution to the global popularity and development of reggae music.” Paul was nominated for the 2019 Latin American Music Awards’ ‘Favorite Crossover Artist’ category alongside Drake, DJ Snake, and Snow in August 2019. P will be released in February 2020.
